SEO and content specialist

at Recruit Digital in Cape Town

An exciting Cape Town advertising agency is looking for an SEO and content specialist (mid-level) to join their digital team!

Based in Airport Indistria, with a main focus on clients in the automotive industry.

The Job:

Experience being responsible for recommending strategic web copy, planning and fulfilment related to the broader SEO initiatives as required by the business.


  • A minimum of 2 years experience
  • Basic HTML knowledge
  • Deep knowledge of SEO tools, tactics and techniques
  • Good understanding of social media landscape and how this can be utilised in SEO
  • Work alongside our marketing team to implement effective strategies
  • Performing thorough, detailed website analysis, identifying current problems and opportunities, with a focus on crawl ability, site architecture and site content
  • Performing competitive research, identifying what the client's competitors are doing right, what they're doing wrong, and how these tactics influence the client
  • Staying up to date on current industry practices, news and algorithm updates
  • Prioritise SEO opportunities based on greatest impact to traffic
  • Proactively identify technical improvements that could be made to our websites, clearly communicating the benefits of implementing the required website changes
  • Collaborate with developers to optimise content in accordance with SEO goals and best practice
  • Oversee and monitor the traffic and performance of our websites
  • Audit websites for SEO issues
  • Identify and resolve SEO issues
  • Develop and execute off-page SEO strategies
  • Keyword research
  • Good understanding of website performance metrics
  • Good understanding of social media landscape to utilised in SEO
  • An above-average level of interest in Google and passion for internet marketing
  • Must be able to grasp technical concepts quickly
  • Have a data-driven, analytical mind, and strong math skills
  • Exquisite attention to detail.
  • Excellent spelling and grammar
  • Deadline-oriented
  • Working knowledge of Excel
  • Proof of at least 2 successful SEO strategies

Experience in SEO strategy (including local, content, eCommerce, mobile and natural link development strategies)


  • The ability to leverage off PPC and work in collaboration with the team

 

Daily tasks will include:


  • Keyword research
  • Execute and analyse SEO experiments
  • Solve page-level performance issues
  • Analyse and report on performance of area of ownership
  • Raise tickets for problems found on-site
  • Suggest site improvements based on page-level optimisation findings

Requirements:


  • 1+ years' experience in eCommerce, online marketing or related fields
  • Comfortable with Excel
  • Good understanding of SEO
  • Ability to analyse performance using data
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
