Digital Marketing Specialist

My client is a data analytics, consulting and software company based in Cape Town and they are looking for a creative and experienced Digital Marketing Specialist to join their Go to Marketing team, reporting into the Commercial Director. The Digital Marketing Specialist will manage their digital presence and use the Inbound Marketing methodology to acquire and retain customers and to build the company's brand across identified target markets.

Duties include:

  • Development and execution of the digital marketing plan in support of the company's business strategy and objectives.
  • Creation and maintenance of an editorial calendar across their blog, website, social media channels and email channel.
  • Management of the digital presence, including website, intranet, social media and blog.
  • Development, execution and tracking of lead generation campaigns.
  • Optimisation of content for search (SEO).
  • Support the marketing team with copywriting / editing and production of marketing material, including sales presentations, brochures, blog posts, marketing emails, landing pages, and other marketing assets in collaboration with external designers.
  • Monitoring and reporting on marketing and lead generation effectiveness.
  • Lead management, including initial qualification of lead via email and entering into CRM.
  • Tracking of spend and management of marketing budget.
  • Supporting the executive team with internal communication and branding initiatives.
  • Monthly reporting of Marketing activities and achievements to Exco.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Tertiary education in Marketing or Communications preferred.
  • Minimum 7+ years' experience in Marketing, B2B marketing preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years' digital marketing experience.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience with Hubspot inbound marketing platform required - (Critical).
  • Good knowledge of SEO.
  • Experience with Google Analytics essential.
  • Experience with WordPress or basic HTML skills essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • +3 years' experience copy writing of marketing material essential.
  • Graphic design skills and experience with desktop publishing products advantageous.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Deep understanding of digital marketing and digital production.
  • Proven experience delivering effective and innovative digital campaigns. Proven experience delivering a variety of digital assets, including rich media online ads, micro sites, and social media applications.
  • Experience managing successful social media campaigns, and a solid understanding of social marketing. Solid understanding of web metrics, digital analytics, with the ability to generate, analyze and interpret data.
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects across multiple products.
