Bought Media Manager

at Creative Spark in Johannesburg

We’re looking for a Johannesburg Bought Media Manager to manage the planning and buying of client media campaigns across the digital landscape. Build and maintaining strong relationships with the clients and internal stakeholders to ensure world-class delivery on time and on budget, the role will extend to include:

Job Description

  • Working with clients and the account management team to understand the client’s business objectives and advertising strategy;
  • Liaising with the design and project management team, clients and consumers to develop optimal media strategies and campaigns;
  • Making decisions on the best form of media for specific clients and campaigns;
  • Undertaking research and analysing data using specialist industry resources;
  • Identifying target audiences and analysing their characteristics, behaviour and media habits;
  • Writing proposals and preparing presentations;
  • Presenting proposals, including cost schedules, to clients;
  • Setup Paid Search, Publisher and Social Media campaigns from start to finish;
  • Proofreading content and signing off creative specs before release;
  • Management of client budget, media plan, client campaigns, client reporting including analysis and recommendations based on past activity;
  • Working with colleagues, other departments and media buyers either in-house or in a specialist agency;
  • Making and maintaining good contacts with media owners and agency partners
  • Managing client relationships to build respect and trust in your judgement;

Personal Skills and Requirements

  • Solid experience in media planning, buying, and campaign management in an agency environment
  • Excellent knowledge of PPC, SEM, Publisher Display and Social Media advertising
  • Google Adwords Certified (Advanced)
  • DCM Certified advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent understanding of South African digital marketing landscape
  • Good organisational and time management skills with ability to work under pressure
  • Fluent in English
  • Strong analytic skills and knowledge of Excel a must.
  • Professional with a strong business acumen
  • Relevant Tertiary qualification
  • Well-developed sense of humour and enjoys being part of a team
  • Pride in work with attention to detail
  • Independent, self-motivated and confident
  • Solution and deadline driven
  • Proactive and ability to adapt (any environment, systems, processes and procedures)
  • Good communicator with strong time management
  • 2-5 years’experience in a digital agency environment, dealing with multiple projects and client demands simultaneously;
